Retsina Natur

Tetramythos

An award-winning biodynamic Greek ‘anti-retsina’ that Eric Boschman, Belgium’s most famous wine critic, once called “dementiel.” Made from Roditis grapes. The name retsina comes from the days when the ancient Greeks sealed their clay jars of wine with pine resin, giving the wine over time a unique woody flavour. Today the resin flavour is often added artificially and retsina generally has a bad reputation. THIS retsina is something else: when I served it to Greek friends in a blind tasting, none of them could believe it was a retsina, and it is one of my best selling wines despite the fact that it’s a retsina. The wood note is so subtle that some people miss it, but it adds a little something extra to this great wine.
