José Maria de Fonseca Moscatel Alambre
José Maria de Fonseca Moscatel Alambre
The family of José Maria de Fonseca created one of Portugal's most iconic and award-winning wines centuries ago and is still making it today. A dessert wine, the Alambre Moscatel de Setubal is produced in the Setubal peninsula south of Lisbon from mostly Moscatel grapes, with small amounts of other grapes added for good measure. It famously combines aromas of citrus, orange peel and apricots, with more orange peel, cinnamon, dried fruits and nuts on the palate. It is fortified with brandy. This wine regularly wins gold and silver medals in international wine competitions and pairs well with cheese and simple desserts such as torrone or cantuccini.
This Sweet wine is made by Jose Maria da Fonseca in Lisbon, Portugal from Moscatel grapes and tastes Sweet, Complex, Elegant, Floral, Fruity, and Nutty.
