Papaioannou Estate 2019
Papaioannou Estate 2019
An award-winning biodynamic Greek red from Agiorgitiko grapes. Rich, fruity, well rounded. This is my best-selling red wine. Named simply after the Nemea region where it is made. The lions on the label refer to Hercules' legendary fight with the Nemean lion, the first of his 12 labors, and the nearby lion gate of Mycenae. The wine boasts a complex, balanced and rich aroma of red fruit, butter, caramel and smooth tannins. It is aged for one year in oak barrels and continues to mature in the bottle for six months before going on sale. It can be aged for ten years. It has won numerous gold medals in recent wine competitions: Gold Medal - Citadelles Bordeaux 2007 Gold Medal - Thessaloniki 2009 Gold Medal - Vienna 2010 Gold Medal- Vienna 2011 Gold Medal – Vienna 2017 Gold Medal – Asia 2017
